* George J. Staab was born 6/21/57 in Springfield, IL to Paul and Jean Staab. He played football at Griffin High School, where he graduated from in 1975. He attended Southern Illinois University (SIU) and graduated with a degree in Mortuary Science.
* George married the former Gwen Shake in 1988. They have 8 children and live on the family farm, which is located between Athens and Petersburg in Menard County, IL. He is a Realtor associated with The Real Estate Group of Springfield, Illinois. Gwen is the Managing Broker of Aspen Professional Services.

* George has always been an avid hunter and fisherman, and has actively managed his family farm for the past 30 years.
* George has been able to effectively combine his personal and professional interests by working with the local ASCS Office and the Illinois DNR concerning natural habitat for wildlife, constructing ponds, and establishing CRP programs.
